The Great Transformation – Greening the Economy
(para traduzir, clique na bandeira de Portugal no meu ao lado)
I am very happy in announcing that I have been chosen, as an environmental bloguer, in a competition, and I am going to Germany to cover “The Great Transformation – Greening the Economy”. You readers cannot imagine how honored and excited I am. It is one of these lifetime’s opportunities, and I will enjoy it as much as I can. It also comes in a good moment for our Blog, E esse tal Meio Ambiente?, which has been improved and will be a year-old-boy in the next few days (we are preparing something special for this date). Finally, and once more, now in a great public, I would like to thank my five friends who have been great and patient all these months.

I will be travelling on Wednesday, in a long and exhausting trip to Rio, Paris, and finally, Berlin. I will be covering the Conference. I hope you all follow my post and tweets. One more thing, I am writing in English due to the conference background (they would not understand Portuguese lol). This post will also have a Portuguese edition, but I apologize because I will not be able to write two versions every time, because the luck of time (folks, I will be in Berlin. I must take advantage!). Nevertheless, there will be that “plugin” to translate everything in the blog. Of course, it is not 100% correct, but I am sure it will be useful. Well, wish me luck.
The Conference
After the fiasco of COP 15, the challenges in relation Climate Change have been increased, and the necessity of clear green policies is, more than never, critical. Holding in Berlin, Germany, on May 28-29, 2010, The Great Transformation – Greening the Economy proposes the discussion around “smart policies” and “smart technologies”, and also on how new actors and alliances can participate in order to stop Climate Change. An important thing about the Conference is the social media participation – us – and how we use these medias to discuss about these issues.
